Abaliget

One of the best-known and most popular natural attractions of the Mecsek region is the Abaliget Stalactite Cave. Due to the unique formations shaped by water erosion, it was once listed among the world's top one hundred natural wonders. Though invisible to the human eye, the cave continues to evolve even today, thanks to the stream that flows along its entire length. Its climate—with 97% humidity and anti-inflammatory calcium ions in the air—brings relief to those suffering from respiratory, allergic, or asthmatic conditions.

The Abaliget Bat Museum, opened in 2004, is a unique thematic exhibition space dedicated to the mysterious and lesser-known world of bats. The museum presents bats in a spectacular and lifelike manner, tailored to their various natural habitats. Visitors can learn about the history and tools of bat research, as well as the main habitats and migratory routes of bats in Hungary.
