Villány

In 1997, Villány was awarded the prestigious title of “Town of Grapes and Wine” by an international jury. The Villány Wine Order, Custodes Vinorum de Villány, was established in 1988 and is tasked with representing Villány’s winemakers both in Hungary and abroad. Wearing their ceremonial uniforms, members participate in over 40 events annually.

The Villány–Siklós Wine Route is a true academy of cultured wine consumption, where guests are introduced to Villány wines through high-quality services. Visitors become acquainted with local traditions and rural life, gain unique experiences, forge friendships, and enjoy active recreation.

Along the Villány Hills—from the pilgrimage site of Máriagyűd to the wine cellar village of Palkonya—guests are welcomed with wine tastings, historic wine cellars, wine competitions, and a rich variety of events. Along the way, historical landmarks, natural beauty, and the folk architecture of the villages and vineyards offer further opportunities for relaxation and discovery.
