Villánykövesd

Villánykövesd is located in the southern part of Baranya County, at the foot of the Villány Hills, 13 km from Siklós and 30 km from Pécs. Nestled in a stunning natural setting, the village is part of the historic wine region and belongs to the Villány–Siklós wine area.

Its most famous attraction—and a favorite among tourists—is the unique three-level wine cellar village, a frequent subject for painters and photographers. The protected row of cellars is one of Hungary’s most spectacular architectural heritage sites.
